Today Help Pet Shelters is pleased to announce the third recipient of the Debra Joseph Diamond Memorial Grant: Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven in Collinsville, OK.
Ward-Wiseman Animal Haven has received $10,000 to further its mission to find homes for animals. Ward-Wiseman is a no-kill shelter and has adopted out over 1,400 animals since its opening in 2008. The shelter plans to use the grant to help upgrade its sheltering and playpen facilities, and also to provide more free to low-cost vaccine and spay/neuter clinics.
Keeley Hough, Outreach Director for Help Pet Shelters, released the following statement:

This grant will not only allow us to further our impact, but it will also allow improved enrichment to the animals in our care. Without opportunities like this, we wouldn’t be where we are today! The program was created in memory of Debra Joseph Diamond, Ph.D., an animal lover, best-selling author, financial analyst, and medium. Following a successful stint on Wall Street in the 1980s, she pivoted careers to focus on helping people in need.
With funding from the Charitable Fundraising Council, Help Pet Shelters has created the Debra Joseph Diamond Grant Program to honor her memory and love of animals by supporting the good work of animal shelters.
Help Pet Shelters is a nonprofit project that educates the public to donate to local pet shelters instead of national organizations. Help Pet Shelters spends 95% of donations on disbursements to local animal shelters, and 5% on its education campaign encouraging the public to support their local shelter.
