Unlike those national groups that give as little as 1% of their donations to local pet shelters, our program gives 95%.
Launched in 2019, our Help Pet Shelters campaign has encouraged animal lovers to support needy animals in their communities. Deciding on what shelter to support can be tricky. Sometimes, a shelter may have a high kill rate or waste money. That’s why we built a list of shelters encompassing all 50 states, and we are directing donations to our Help Pet Shelters campaign to these shelters.
So far we’ve donated $140,000 and counting to dozens of shelters across the United States.
This support is largely possible because of individuals like you! We also are proud to run the Debra Diamond Memorial Grant program with support from the Charitable Fundraising Council, read more about the program here.
Shelters we’ve supported include the Humane Rescue Alliance (DC), Heart of Valley Animal Shelter (MT), and the Humane Society of South Coastal Georgia. Read some of the “thank you” letters we’ve gotten from pet shelters here and here.
See the photos below, where local shelters are accepting checks from Help Pet Shelters. Help Pet Shelters no longer collects donations but encourages you to donate to a local shelter near you. A list of shelters is below for all 50 states.
